Exact dates are set by the district each school year, but the chapter follows a consistent rhythm of contests, conventions, and fundraisers. Here is what members can expect.
September - November
Fall
Greenhand Conference and Potluck
First-year members attend the district Greenhand conference, and the chapter hosts a Greenhand potluck to welcome them.
Soils and Livestock Judging
Members compete at the Bonanza Soils Invitational, district and state soils contests, and fall livestock judging.
National FFA Convention
Members travel to the National FFA Convention in October.
District Ag Sales and Food Science
Career development events in agricultural sales and food science run at district level through the fall.
December - February
Winter
Klamath Basin CDE Invitational
The basin-wide invitational gives members contest practice ahead of the district and state season.
Klamath Farm Expo
The chapter helps set up and staff the Klamath Farm Expo each February.
National FFA Week
A week of chapter activities in February, including assemblies and member social events.
Chapter Fundraisers
Tri-tip and drive-thru dinners, along with other member-run fundraisers, help cover contest travel.
March - June
Spring
Oregon State FFA Convention
Members attend the state convention in March, where state degrees and awards are presented.
District and State CDEs
Floriculture, veterinary science, ag mechanics, and meats evaluation contests run at district and state level through spring.
Mother's Day Plant Sale
The chapter greenhouse plant sale runs in early May and is the chapter's main spring fundraiser.
Year-End Banquet
The chapter banquet in May recognizes member achievement and installs the next officer team.
Southern Oregon District Leadership Camp
Members attend district leadership camp in June.
